CSOs for Sustainable Development 2021-2022

The "CSOs for Sustainable Development" project, which has been applied in partnership with Türkiye İMSAD and ÇEDBİK, has been awarded a grant within the scope of the third period of the Civil Society Support Program coordinated by the Directorate of EU Affairs. The project, which was supported by The Republic of Turkey Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs with the financial support of the European Union has started on April 1, 2021, and will last 15 months.

 Objectives of the action

Overall objective:

Support the development of civil society through more active cross-sectorial collaboration and enhanced capacity for democratic participation in policy and decision-making processes.

 Specific objective(s):

  • Empower CSOs working in construction, environment, sustainable development, architecture and energy efficiency in terms of their organisational capacity (esp. with regards to communication, lobbying, networking);
  • Develop a better understanding of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among CSOs and promote their active participation in achievement of SDGs;
  • Increase visibility of efforts spent for reaching SDGs and encourage collaboration among CSOs, public and private stakeholders for joint development of strategies, actions, policy documents;
  • Encourage participation of CSOs in public institutions’ decision-making processes.

Target group(s):

  • Türkiye İMSAD with its CSO members and private sector members;
  • ÇEDBİK with its members;
  • Civil society organisations / platforms / networks / initiatives working in construction / environment / sustainable development / architecture and energy efficiency sectors,
  • Local governments and stakeholders from other sectors;
  • Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation; Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. 

Final beneficiaries:

  • National/global networks of Türkiye İMSAD and ÇEDBİK;
  • Members of target CSOs;
  • Members of “Sustainable Urban Development Network” established by local governments;
  • Civil society, public and private sectors that will benefit from achievement of SDGs. 

Expected outputs:

  • A network of civil society stakeholders working in construction, environment, sustainable development, architecture and energy efficiency sectors; signed protocols of the network;
  • A project website;
  • A capacity building training program for CSOs on SDGs, lobbying, communication and stakeholder dialogue;
  • SDG action plans of Türkiye İMSAD and ÇEDBİK and their progress reports;
  • Booklet and toolkit on SDGs;
  • A social media campaign on SDGs;
  • A policy recommendation paper;
  • SDG Awards.
